Chevrolet unveils Silverado EV Trail Boss with 769 km range
Chevrolet has expanded its 2026 Silverado EV lineup with the new Trail Boss off-road variant, iXBT reports. Its key feature is a maximum range of 769 km on a full charge — 17% more than earlier models.

The Trail Boss offers a 5 cm higher ground clearance, 35-inch off-road tires, and 18-inch wheels. It also features the Sidewinder system (like Crab Walk in the GMC Hummer EV), allowing all four wheels to turn in the same direction. This system is available on both Trail Boss and RST trims.

Exclusively for Trail Boss, Terrain mode has been added to improve low-speed torque distribution. The version with the largest battery delivers 725 hp and 1051 Nm of torque. Payload is rated at 952 kg and towing capacity at 5669 kg, though range decreases with heavy loads.

Chevrolet also included Super Cruise, a hands-free driving system, now with trailer mode support. The base price for the Silverado EV has been reduced to $54,895 from $57,095. The Work Truck trim includes a 17.7-inch touchscreen and an 11-inch instrument display.

Trail Boss pricing starts at $72,095 for the long-range model and $88,695 for the fully equipped version. It is seen as Chevrolet’s response to the growing demand for off-road electric pickups, rivaling the Ford F-150 Lightning and Tesla Cybertruck.
