From October 1, a new rule will apply to moped and scooter drivers.

Starting October 1, 2025, new requirements for moped and scooter drivers are planned to come into force in our country. According to the Road Safety Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, vehicles will now be permitted for state registration and operation only by persons with a category "A" driver's license.

The new rule covers various aspects of mopeds and scooters. Specifically, this requirement applies to vehicles with a gasoline engine operating volume from 25 cm3 to 50 cm3, as well as vehicles with an electric motor power from 0.25 kW to 4 kW. At the same time, mopeds and scooters with a design speed range of 25-50 km/h are also included in the rules.

Most importantly, this rule is not only a technical requirement for moped and scooter drivers, but also a means of ensuring safety. Every driver is obliged to register their vehicle and obtain an official category "A" certificate. This, in turn, significantly reduces road traffic risks and ensures road stability.

Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs warned that this procedure will begin on March 1, 2025, and by September 30, all owners of mopeds and scooters will have to register their vehicles and issue a category "A" certificate. Now, as soon as the new rule comes into force, all drivers must act in accordance with the updated standards, both legally and from the point of view of safety.

At the same time, specialists emphasize the need for regular checks of the technical condition of mopeds and scooters, the braking system, tires, and engines. This is important not only for personal safety, but also for other road users.

The new rule is of vital importance, allowing moped and scooter owners to formalize all processes and ensure road safety. Now, every driver will drive their vehicle under full control, and stability and order will be maintained on the roads.
