AvtoVAZ prepares for production of the new Lada Azimut crossover

Russia's AvtoVAZ plans to produce up to 70,000 Lada Azimut crossovers annually. This model is based on the Vesta platform, featuring nearly a thousand original components, including new body panels and a rear suspension system. This is reported by Ixbt.com reports .
Serial production of the vehicle is scheduled for September 2026. Initially, the crossover will be offered with 1.6 and 1.8-liter naturally aspirated engines, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT. Later, versions with a 150 hp turbocharged engine and a classic automatic transmission will also be introduced.
The company is also developing a hybrid model based on the Lada Azimut. Expected to debut in the third quarter of 2026, this version is said to feature 394 hp, all-wheel drive, and a range of up to 1,100 kilometers.
The new crossover also stands out in terms of equipment. The model will be provided with features such as a 10-inch media system screen, a panoramic roof, and a heated windshield and front side windows.
