AC Cars unveils £400,000 Cobra Coupe supercar

Legendary British brand AC Cars is starting a new era with its 799 hp V8-powered AC Cobra Coupé sports car. According to company chairman Alan Lubinsky, this model will play a key role in taking the brand global. Starting at £399,000, the two-seater will enter production next year, according to a report by

The new Cobra Coupé is essentially a closed-roof version of the 2024 Cobra Roadster, sharing 75 percent of its components. The car is equipped with a 5.0-liter V8 engine supplied by Ford. Buyers can choose between a 450 hp naturally aspirated engine or a 720 hp supercharged version. Additionally, a special Clubsport Edition with 799 hp will be released, limited to just 99 units.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Tremec six-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic transmission. The car features a full carbon fiber body and an aluminum chassis, with all parts manufactured in-house. The body design is inspired by the AC Cobra A98 that competed in the 1964 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The car measures 1.98 meters in width, which is wider than previous models. Engineers chose this dimension to comply with road traffic regulations in various countries and to secure road-legal status. The interior blends classic analog gauges with a modern digital touchscreen.
