Budget Rally: Nissan Micra, Renault Modus and Mazda MX-5 face off

Last April, an unusual car race took place at the RMB Chivenor Royal Marines base on the Devon coast. Although closed to the public, visitors could witness about 50 vintage cars, ranging from a 1972 Ford Escort to a 2007 BMW 123d, racing across runways and grass fields. This is reported by Autocar.co.uk reports .
Throughout the day, rare models like the 1987 Volkswagen Golf GTI and 1990 Toyota Corolla GTI, as well as unconventional choices like the 1997 Proton Satria and 2003 Ford Fusion, competed one after another in different corners of the base. The cars screeched to a halt beside judges timing them to the second.
This was completely different from the traditional rally competitions we are used to. The focus here was not on expensive sports cars, but on the durability of simple, budget-friendly vehicles and the skill of the drivers. Each participant tried to extract maximum power from their old car.
