An ideal solution for the fuel crisis: Toyota Prius passes the efficiency test

With fuel prices rising, every liter of gasoline is becoming more valuable, especially for long-distance drivers. A special test was conducted to determine how efficient the Toyota Prius, one of the most economical cars on the market, is in daily use. Although filling the car's 40-liter tank has become significantly more expensive compared to last month, the onboard computer promised a range of 467 miles (approximately 750 km). This is reported by Autocar.co.uk reports.
The 13.6 kWh battery of this plug-in hybrid model was charged at a public charging station, providing an additional 35-40 miles of range in real-world conditions. The test plan was simple: drive until both of the car's energy sources were depleted. No artificial fuel-saving techniques were used, driving style was not altered, and only tire pressure was adjusted to the recommended levels. The test route included commuting, airport trips, and long-distance intercity travel.
The Toyota Prius impressed not only with its fuel efficiency but also with its dynamics. In the new model, Toyota engineers aimed to make the car more attractive than just a standard taxi service vehicle. The combined 223 horsepower from the 2.0-liter gasoline engine and electric motor allows the car to reach 0 to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds. This is quite an agile figure among crossovers and sedans.
Combined with a low seating position and a small steering wheel, the Prius offers unexpected driving pleasure. The car feels very composed on highways and is more stable in corners than expected. At the end of the test, it became clear that the modern Prius not only saves money but also provides the driver with the opportunity for dynamic performance.
