The President was presented with information about a draft resolution aimed at further developing the field of visual and applied arts.
These areas are an integral part of our culture and the upbringing of youth. However, in the past, over decades, artists were neglected. Therefore, during an extended meeting of the Republican Council on Spirituality and Enlightenment, the President addressed this issue and gave instructions to the relevant officials.
According to the project, during 2026–2027, within the framework of the investment program, it is planned to reconstruct the Central Exhibition Hall and the fund building of the Academy of Arts and establish a Multimedia Center at the Tashkent House of Photography.
Most importantly, opportunities for art-loving youth will be expanded. Specifically, a Center for Young Artists will be built on the territory of the Art Fund, which will include a modern gallery and 40 creative studios. An educational-production workshop will also be established at the Museum of Eastern Miniature Art. The Benkov School of Painting will be renovated, and a new educational building with 400 seats and a dormitory for 200 will be constructed.
Experienced artists who mentor young authors based on the “master–apprentice” principle will receive additional encouragement. Every year, the most talented creators will be sent abroad to gain experience through competitive selection.
Measures will be taken to improve the quality of education at the Kamoliddin Behzod National Institute of Painting and Design. Step by step, advanced foreign curricula and programs will be introduced. High-quality artworks by professors will be equated to scientific monographs. Additionally, graduates of this institute will be allowed to teach visual arts in schools.
A system will be launched to create creative works on state order from the series “Landscapes of New Uzbekistan”, “Historical Scholars” and “Heroes of the Time”.
The President also emphasized the need to improve conditions for artists in the regions and to involve youth in visual and applied arts. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
