The famous series “Peaky Blinders” will be continued again. The new spin-off, developed jointly by Netflix and BBC, will depict life in Great Britain in 1953 and the new generation of the Shelby family. According to Variety, the project will consist of at least two seasons.
According to the plot, after the devastating bombings of World War II, Birmingham begins to build a new future out of concrete and steel. However, the struggle for control over the city’s massive reconstruction project turns into a fierce competition of mythical proportions.
The main cast of the series has not yet been revealed. However, it is known that Cillian Murphy, who played Thomas Shelby in the original, will return to the project as an executive producer. In addition, the creator of the series Steven Knight will also continue to participate in the production.
Earlier, Knight announced that Cillian Murphy’s character would reappear on screen.
It should be noted that the sixth season of “Peaky Blinders” aired in 2022. Instead of a final seventh season, Knight decided to conclude the story of Tommy Shelby and his criminal gang with a feature film.
The series was first released in 2013 and quickly gained popularity. Five years later, it won the BAFTA award as the “Best British show,” and a year after that it received the National Television Award for “Best Drama Series.”
