At the Miss Universe 2025 competition, Norwegian representative Leonora Lisglimt-Redland attracted attention in an unusual way - she stepped onto the podium in a giant salmon costume. According to the contestant, the purpose of such a costume was to emphasize the country's maritime heritage and centuries-old fishing traditions.
The costume fully imitated the fish: with scales, fins, and a salmon head, the model's legs remained bare, which added lightness to the image. During the parade, Lisglimt-Redland opened the suit and showed a transparent body painted in red, imitating fish guts.
The stage performance was carried out in several stages - the model periodically covered and opened the suit, creating the effect of a live salmon that comes alive on the podium. The competition's voiceover emphasized that the dress reflects not only the national symbol but also the participant's movements, their elegance and dynamism.

Social media users actively discussed Leonora's performance. Some called her image a "cult" and "the highest manifestation of unique national pride," while others admitted that they were "completely bewildered" and did not expect such uniqueness from the choice. The model eventually earned audience recognition for her performance.
The salmon costume also drew attention to the environmental theme and the role of fishing in the country's economy, reminding that fashion and culture can tell not only about beauty, but also about traditions and nature.
