I could even marry a village boy" — Luiza Rasulova

Actress Luiza Rasulova, one of the most discussed figures among representatives of Uzbek show business, turned 31 on April 24. She entered the world of art at the age of 14, first appearing in a music video. On the occasion of the birthday of Luiza Rasulova, who sold clothes at a market as a child, studied in Ukraine, faced insults from a male colleague, and currently works as a host at weddings and ceremonies, we take a look at her life path and creative career.
“I traded at the market after my father's death”
She was born on April 24, 1995, in the city of Chirchiq. Recalling her childhood memories, she says she sold clothes at the market, while her mother cleaned relatives' houses to make ends meet.
— I didn't dream of becoming an actress since childhood, but I had talent in this field. I actively participated in stage performances at kindergarten and school; my roles turned out well. That’s why my late father used to affectionately call me his "actress daughter." However, I didn't attend special courses to study art. After my father passed away, I decided to become an actress to fulfill his dream. We fell into a difficult situation after my father's death. There were times when I both studied and worked. I sold clothes at the market.
During those times, my brother and I worked and tried not to let our mother work. Because my mother suffered from heart disease, and her condition worsened after my father's death. Thank God, we haven't made her work until today. But at certain times, to find bread, my mother cleaned the houses of others, even our relatives, the actress recalls.
“I bought my first car at age 19”

Luiza Rasulova's first film role appeared at age 15 in the movie “Yondiradi, kuydiradi.” At age 16, she participated in the film “O, Maryam, Maryam,” and before that, she successfully played the lead character in the film “Xazina.” The actress, who has appeared in many films, considers her performance in “O, Maryam, Maryam” to be her most successful role.
— During school days, I used to travel from Chirchiq to Tashkent, to “Oʻzbekfilm.” I would constantly call a director who knew me from before and plead, “Please accept me, give me one chance.” Finally, they accepted me.
My first role started with participating in Farrux Xamrayev's music video. My film debut was at age 15 in the movie “Yondiradi, kuydiradi,” featuring famous actors. First, I studied at the Variety and Circus College, then my studies were not completed and I studied at a higher art institute in Kyiv, Ukraine. I have a higher education, but I have heard comments from some artists calling me an "uneducated girl."
At age 19, I bought my first personal car. Then in 2019, I purchased a new apartment in Tashkent with the income I earned from wedding services, filming, and advertising work. This apartment was not obtained through any advertising deal but through my own hard work, she says.
“I was invited to the series ‘Muhtasham yuz yil’”

The actress participated in the casting for the famous Turkish series but turned down the role.
— There was a casting in Ukraine for the series “Muhtasham yuz yil.” I auditioned for the role of Princess Isabella. Turkish directors also conducted castings via video call. Knowing there were explicit scenes in the series, I understood this role was not suitable for me and refused. I was very young at that time; I didn't even have a passport. Later, after watching the series, I regretted a little that I didn't participate.
“I never go to filming alone”
Usually, women in the art field face various oppositions from their families. Has Luiza encountered difficulties in this regard?
— My family knows my character well. They trusted that I wouldn't go down the wrong path by entering the arts. Those who know me well know — I never walk alone. I am always with my brother. I have never gone to any wedding, filming, or show alone. That’s why they are at peace. In general, there has been no one in my family who opposed my art.
“I wear revealing and tight clothes, but within limits”

The most frequent questions asked of the actress are about her images on Instagram and her style of dress. Currently, she has 5.5 million followers on her page.
— My Instagram page is followed by 77 percent men and 33 percent women. Many people recognize me not only in Uzbekistan but also in CIS countries — Russia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. True, sometimes I wear tight or revealing clothes. But I don't exceed the limits. We are living in the 21st century. Girls on the street dress like this too. It’s just that because you are an artist, more attention is focused on you.
“I received a harsh SMS from a colleague”
Luiza has been hosting weddings and events since she was 18-19 years old. According to her, the path of art is not easy.
— If I had the chance, I wouldn't go back 20 years and choose art. Because it is very difficult for a woman to maintain her place in this field. At the beginning of my career, my colleagues received me well. But later, I encountered many negative attitudes. One day at 2 AM, I received an SMS from a male host. It said things like “you are making people nauseous, you are advertising yourself, you are uneducated.” This was unexpected for me. I had been on good terms with that person before; I didn't understand why he wrote that, says the actress.
“I could even marry a village boy”

The actress also shared her thoughts on her personal life.
— I could even marry an ordinary village boy. But if someone comes and says “quit art,” I won't agree immediately. Because I reached this level with great effort. If he creates conditions so that I won't be bored after leaving art, why not? It's not just about the money here, says Luiza Rasulova.
