In January 2025, retail sales of passenger cars in China decreased by 12% compared to the same period last year, reaching 1.81 million units, according to a report by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).
This marks the first decline since September 2024 and the most significant drop in nearly a year.
However, sales of new energy vehicles (NEV) increased by 10.5% last month. As a result, NEVs accounted for 41.2% of all new cars sold during the month.
CPCA predicts that in 2025, the share of NEVs will rise to 57%, up from 47% last year.
China exported 380,000 cars in January, 3% more than in the same period last year. Follow “Zamin” news on “Telegram”
