
The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan has presented to the public new exchange rates effective from May 23. According to the official data, the Uzbek soum has strengthened slightly against the dollar, the euro has also depreciated, but the ruble is the only currency that has recorded growth for today.
- The US dollar has depreciated by 33.42 soums, reaching 12,904.51 soums.
- The euro has decreased by 89.50 soums, reaching 14,575.64 soums.
- The Russian ruble has increased by 0.89 soums, reaching 161.99 soums.

It should be noted that a few days ago the dollar appreciated by 45.02 soums, reaching 12,937.93 soums, and the euro and ruble rates have also increased significantly.
According to the Central Bank, since the beginning of 2024, the national currency - the soum - has depreciated by approximately 4.7 percent against the US dollar. For comparison, in 2023 the soum weakened by 9.7 percent, and in 2022 by 3.94 percent.
According to experts, such changes in exchange rates may depend on the dynamics in foreign markets, the level of inflation and the country's foreign trade balance. Therefore, it is recommended to closely monitor the situation in the foreign exchange market.
