Russia remains the world’s fourth largest economy
According to the latest data from the World Bank, Russia has once again maintained its position among the world’s top five largest economies in 2024. This ranking is based on gross domestic product (GDP) recalculated using purchasing power parity (PPP), which accounts for price level differences between countries.

Last year, Russia’s economic volume was $6.45 trillion, while this year it has reached $6.92 trillion. As a result, the country remains in fourth place after China, the United States, and India.

China firmly holds the top spot on the list, with a GDP of $38.2 trillion. The United States ranks second ($29.2 trillion), and India is third ($16.2 trillion).

Russia’s closest competitor is Japan, whose GDP is significantly lower. The economic gap between the two countries has increased by $514 billion compared to 2023.

Experts note that the stability of Russia’s economy is due to its ability to adapt to both domestic and international markets. This situation enables the country to remain a key player on the global economic stage.
