Remittances from abroad increased by 21.4% – new records for Uzbekistan

In the second quarter of 2025, remittances to Uzbekistan from abroad showed significant growth. During this period, a total of 4.8 billion dollars were transferred to the country, which is 21.4% more compared to the same period in 2024. Annual analysis shows that this growth is related to new opportunities for labor migrants.

Analyzing the indicators of the second quarter, sharp differences in the growth rates compared to the second quarter of 2024 were observed. In 2024, the growth rate was 38.6%, while this year it was 21.4%, which is related to economic conditions and the stability of exchange rates. This indicates the availability of favorable conditions for labor migrants, an increase in their wages, and improvements in payment systems.

Last year, noticeable growth rates in remittances were observed from certain regions. For example, remittances from the Baltic states increased by 65.6%, while in Europe and some other regions, the growth rate remained high. This is undoubtedly linked to the policies for receiving labor migrants and economic conditions.

At the same time, it is necessary to pay special attention to the developments in remittances from the USA, Russia, and Europe. The amount of remittances from the USA decreased by 10.3%, from Russia – by 23.7%, and from Europe – by 26.9%.

The changes in exchange rates in each country and the growing needs of labor migrants are contributing to the intensification of competition among youth in international production and the creation of new opportunities.
