Investments in artificial intelligence are increasing in the United Kingdom and Sweden. This has also affected currency markets. In recent months, the pound sterling and the Swedish krona have strengthened compared to other European currencies.
According to Stanford University, last year these two countries were among those that attracted the most investment in artificial intelligence. Microsoft and Meta are building data centers in Sweden.
The United Kingdom signed a technological cooperation agreement with the United States. Microsoft announced plans to invest 31 billion pounds (about 39 billion dollars) in the country. This boosted the value of the pound.
Economists say artificial intelligence may accelerate economic growth but also bring new challenges for the labor market.
