The volume of remittances from Kazakhstan abroad has significantly increased, and Uzbekistan has been noted as a leading country in this process, reports Inbusiness.kz.
According to official data, the total value of international remittances from Kazakhstan in September 2025 amounted to 71.6 billion tenge. This figure is 1.6% higher than in August.
The largest share of cash flows - 25 billion tenge (34.9% of total transactions) - was directed to Uzbekistan. This has made the country currently the largest destination for money transfers from Kazakhstan. Russia is in second place with 20.3 billion tenge (28.4%), and Turkey is in third with 11.3 billion tenge (15.8%).
According to officials, such growth is primarily explained by the increase in labor migrants to Uzbekistan and Russia, as well as the active maintenance of their family ties. From an economic point of view, the dynamic movement in the labor market has a great influence on the growth of remittances.
Russia (4.7 billion tenge), the USA (3 billion tenge), and Uzbekistan (2.6 billion tenge) lead in international cash flows to Kazakhstan. These figures indicate the consistent development of bilateral financial relations.
