Wrestler stabbed to death during a kurash competition in Denov

A national kurash competition held in the Denov district of Surkhandarya region ended in a tragic incident. A well-known wrestler lost his life following a brawl that broke out during the sports event.

According to reports, the incident occurred on May 9 during a public kurash event held at the sports ground of the Abu Ali ibn Sino Medical College. Initial information suggests that the brother of a participant who lost the match became agitated and attacked representatives of the opposing side.

The suspect, identified as Doston Jabborov, got into an argument with Nizomiddin Chotboyev, the father of the winning wrestler, after his brother lost the bout. He then used a kitchen knife he had brought with him to stab the man several times.

It is reported that the victim was rushed to the hospital. However, despite the efforts of the doctors, his life could not be saved.

The preliminary forensic medical examination concluded that the severe injuries inflicted on the victim's chest, lower back, and buttocks were the cause of death.

For reference, Nizomiddin Chotboyev was known as a prominent wrestler in the Denov region.

A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident. The suspect has been detained by law enforcement agencies, and an investigation is underway.
