During his visit to the Bektemir district of the capital, Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Iikota mahalla and got acquainted with the construction and improvement works, the press service of the President reports.
It is noted that about 6 thousand people live in 37 multi-storey buildings and 1,400 courtyards here.
Last year, a three-story mahalla office was put into operation. Now, secondary school No. 358 has been built at the expense of the state budget. The President inspected this new institution.
The school, with a capacity of almost a thousand students, has science classrooms, computer and foreign language rooms, a robotics club, and a laboratory equipped with the necessary educational equipment. A wide range of amenities have been created for children in the library, gym, football field and kitchen.
During the conversation with teachers, the importance of properly shaping children's abilities, developing vocational education and sending graduates into professional life was emphasized. In particular, the tasks of expanding areas such as information technology, robotics, engineering, and strengthening the military-patriotic spirit in adolescents were highlighted.

“Two private kindergartens have been organized on the first floors of new houses in the neighborhood. Their opening on the eve of Navruz was a festive gift for parents. Many people earn a living in the neighborhood, where there are 70 trade and service outlets and 2 manufacturing enterprises. Within the framework of the urgent one-month period announced by the decree of our President, the productive use of household plots and the planting of agricultural crops are continuing in full swing," the report says.
