
An important meeting was held in Samarkand with the participation of the secretaries of the Security Councils of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, as well as the military attaché of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Uzbekistan. The meeting discussed measures to combat terrorism and extremism in the Central Asian region.
The event was organized within the framework of Uzbekistan's chairmanship in the format of consultative meetings of the heads of Central Asian states.
In his congratulatory address to the participants of the meeting, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that the countries of Central Asia are becoming a region of strategic partnership based on good neighborliness, mutual trust and constructive dialogue.
The Security Council Secretaries discussed issues of strengthening regional security, combating threats such as terrorism, extremism and radicalization, combating transnational organized crime, cooperation in ensuring environmental security, as well as ensuring transport security and developing transport and transit potential.
Uzbekistan, within the framework of its chairmanship of the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia, is promoting initiatives aimed at strengthening regional partnership, expanding trade and economic cooperation, improving transport links and finding sustainable solutions to regional problems.
