Man jailed for 5 days over harassment in Tashkent metro

A case of sexual harassment was recorded in the Tashkent metro, Podrobno.uz reported. On April 4, a man groped a woman’s private part while exiting a train.

According to the anti-violence project "Nemolchi", the victim immediately sought help from metro staff. The offender was apprehended on the spot and handed over to law enforcement officers.

The court found the man guilty under administrative articles 41-1 (sexual harassment) and 194 (disobeying lawful orders of internal affairs officers).

As a result, he was sentenced to 5 days of administrative detention. In addition, he is required to cover the cost of his stay in the detention facility – 15% of the basic calculation amount per day (approximately 52,500 UZS daily). Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
