On June 30 of this year, a tragic incident occurred at State Preschool Institution No. 7, located in the Chilanzar district of Tashkent city. A five-year-old child attending the kindergarten, left unattended by educators, lost balance and fell down from the staircase on the second floor, sustaining serious bodily injuries.
On the day of the incident, the child lost balance while descending from the upper floor at a moment when the attention of the caregivers had waned. Although child safety must be a top priority in any preschool institution, in this case, proper supervision was evidently lacking.
As a result of the fall, the child suffered severe injuries to the arms and face. Initially, the medical worker of the institution provided first aid, but due to the child's critical condition, he was urgently transported to the children's ward of a city hospital.
After examination, doctors diagnosed fractures of both forearm bones, fractures of the nasal bone and upper jaw, as well as cracks in some facial bones. Because of this, the child was placed in the intensive care unit and continues to receive emergency medical treatment.
Doctors assess the child's condition as serious. Currently, he is under constant medical supervision, and hospital specialists are doing their best to restore his health.
Meanwhile, the Chilanzar district police department is conducting an investigation regarding this incident. If negligence or failure to fulfill professional duties is confirmed as a result of the investigation, the responsible individuals will be held accountable under the law.
This situation calls for a more serious approach to ensuring child safety in preschool institutions. Children must not only receive education but also be raised in a secure environment, and all unsupervised situations must be prevented.
According to some experts, leaving children unsupervised often leads to serious consequences. Therefore, every caregiver and staff member in a kindergarten must remember their responsibility for children's safety.
The Preschool Education Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan (PEA) commented on the incident and confirmed that the child had indeed been left unattended. The agency stated that an internal investigation is underway and that strict measures will be taken to prevent such cases in the future.
Furthermore, an internal service review is being conducted in relation to the kindergarten administration, and recommendations are being developed to prevent the recurrence of similar negligence. To ensure the safety of children, it is essential to install video surveillance systems, alarm systems, and special barriers on staircases in educational institutions.
Currently, the child is undergoing intensive therapy. Doctors are following a precise treatment plan aimed at full recovery. According to the child's relatives, he is very active and full of life — in a sense, they believe he was lucky to survive.
It should be noted that such incidents can leave not only physical but also psychological trauma. Therefore, it is important that the child receives not only medical but also psychological assistance.
Every child in society needs support and protection. Every responsible person — whether a teacher, caregiver, or kindergarten management — must remember that they are accountable for the child's life.
To prevent such incidents, each educational institution should regularly conduct emergency drills, and all personnel must be familiar with safety rules. Moreover, access to staircases and elevated areas must be restricted for children.
In conclusion, this incident should serve as a serious lesson for society as a whole. A single moment of carelessness can endanger a child’s life. Every child is our future, and protecting them is a sacred duty for all.
