On July 7, a fire incident in Tashkent city caused widespread discussion on social media. The incident, which took place in the Almazar district, was quickly spread by hundreds of users through photos and videos. In this regard, the capital's Emergency Situations Department provided an official statement.
According to the information, the fire occurred in a container located at a road repair site on Korasaroy Street, near the Center of Islamic Civilization. Various construction materials temporarily stored in the container, including polyethylene products, caught fire. The fire was recorded at 11:32 and was quickly extinguished by the duty fire-rescue team.
According to the employees of the emergency service, the fire covered an area of 2 square meters, and mainly plastic and polyethylene materials were damaged. Thanks to timely notification and prompt actions, the fire was prevented from spreading to a larger area.
Most importantly, there were no casualties. Nearby buildings and pedestrians were evacuated to a safe area. Those present at the scene acted in accordance with safety rules, which helped prevent the situation from worsening.
At the same time, the causes of the fire are currently being investigated. Preliminary assumptions suggest the fire may have been caused by a short circuit in the electrical wires or by careless actions at the construction site. A special working group has been formed by the responsible authorities to study the technical and legal aspects.
Mahalla activists and nearby residents were urged to remain attentive and vigilant in such situations. In areas where construction and repair work is underway, the importance of strictly following safety measures and providing fire safety equipment was once again emphasized.
In its public message, the Emergency Situations Service stressed that every citizen is personally responsible in the fight against fire, should boldly report dangerous situations, and call 101 when necessary.
Such fires often arise due to human error, negligence, and lack of control. Waste, flammable materials, and temporary structures in and around buildings are elements that quickly spread flames. Therefore, regular inspections must be carried out in all public or construction areas.
Experts emphasize that no matter how small it may seem, any fire incident can be the beginning of a major tragedy. Although today’s fire was quickly extinguished, it shows the need for more serious precautions in the near future.
Each of us must remember that we are responsible for fire safety in our neighborhoods, workplaces, and homes.
