Brawl during Mangal Fest: Police break up the situation

A public festival called Mangal fest, held on Saturday in Tashkent, unexpectedly turned into a scandal. During the event, which took place in the Mirabad district on Taras Shevchenko Street, a verbal argument broke out among a group of citizens and soon escalated into a fight.

Videos from the scene clearly show law enforcement officers stepping in to separate the individuals involved. Although special services had been deployed in advance to ensure the peaceful and safe running of the event, some participants disregarded public order and got into a dispute.

According to the official statement from the city’s Department of Internal Affairs, officers from the police and National Guard promptly took control of the situation and prevented it from escalating further. All individuals involved in the conflict were identified and taken to the nearest police station for preventive conversations.

Currently, based on video materials of the incident, the Mirabad district police are conducting a pre-investigation check. Following the inquiry, the actions of those who disrupted public order will be legally assessed.

It is worth noting that earlier, from June 27–29, a beer festival was held in Tashkent, which also sparked widespread public debate. Some citizens and social activists criticized such events for contradicting national traditions and moral values. In particular, MP from the “Milliy Tiklanish” party, Firuza Mukhamedzhanova, publicly condemned the events, citing their negative impact on societal consciousness.

Such incidents once again highlight the importance of maintaining public order. Any mass event should be organized not only for entertainment purposes but also with safety in mind. The festival, which began with grilling and was meant to be about music, taste, and fun, remains in the public spotlight.
