The blogger known as “Abdulloh” has received a strict sentence. According to the press secretary of the Supreme Court, Aziz Obidov, the blogger was sentenced to 3 years and 1 month of imprisonment.
The convicted individual, Yugay Valeriy, was born in 1999 in the Tashkent region, and his case was reviewed in the Nurafshan city court. The court found him guilty of crimes under Article 156, Part 2 of the Criminal Code — incitement of national, racial, ethnic, or religious hatred, and Article 158, Part 3 — assault on the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The imposed sentence is to be served in a correctional colony. After the court ruling, the blogger’s case has been widely discussed on social media and in mass media. His actions provoked various reactions among the internet audience — some users supported the decision, expressing trust in the enforcement of law, while others criticized it.
It is reported that parties have the right to appeal or file a cassation against the first-instance court ruling within the period and procedure established by law. This provides a legal opportunity for the blogger’s family and legal defenders.
This incident sparked broader discussion about online blogging activity and the legal boundaries established by law. At the same time, the public was warned that threats and insults against the President could result in severe punishment.
