Fraudsters caught trying to sell valuable land in Tashkent

In Tashkent city, fraudsters were caught attempting to illegally sell a 50-sotok land plot valued at 4 million US dollars. The incident was uncovered during rapid actions by law enforcement, and it was determined that these individuals tried to illegally seize valuable and lawful properties.

It is reported that among the fraudsters were an office manager of a local LLC engaged in construction project planning and a citizen involved in brokerage activities. They gained the trust of an entrepreneur and, using deception, agreed to sell a 50-sotok land plot for 4 million US dollars, receiving an advance payment of 100 thousand US dollars.

Additionally, the fraudsters, through their connections with high-ranking officials, demanded another 200 thousand US dollars for converting this land plot from non-residential to residential, obtaining permits to build a cottage-style house, and formalizing architectural and project documentation. They requested half of this amount in advance, attempting to commit the offense.

During a rapid operation carried out by the State Security Service and the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, the two individuals were caught receiving 200 thousand US dollars and detained based on documentary evidence.

As a result, a criminal case was initiated against them under Article 168 Part 4 “a”, as well as Articles 28 and 211 Part 3 “a” of the Criminal Code. They were also subjected to pre-trial detention.

Within the framework of investigative actions, their criminal accomplices are being identified, and measures are being taken regarding their identity. This case once again demonstrated the necessity of ensuring the security of valuable land plots and entrepreneurial activity in the city.
