Rumours about a "kidnapping" in the Tashkent region have been denied.

In the Tashkent region, the news circulating on social media about the "kidnapping" has been officially denied, and the true circumstances of the incident have been established. This was reported by the Children's Ombudsman and law enforcement agencies.

It was reported that the incident that occurred on August 25 in the "Oydinobod" neighborhood of Kuyi Chirchik district was misinterpreted. It was established that a woman, born in 1979, living in the Akkurgan district, went to this area to find an acquaintance. The incident where he asked a neighborhood boy for directions was recorded on video, and some citizens considered him suspicious, used offensive words, and treated him inappropriately. This video quickly spread on social networks and was groundlessly and incorrectly interpreted as a "kidnapping."

According to the results of the preliminary investigation, the woman's non-involvement in the kidnapping was fully confirmed. On the contrary, attempts by citizens to "punish" with their own hands were recognized as an offense. For this reason, official documents were prepared against 7 individuals and sent to court on the basis of Article 183 (petty hooliganism) of the Code of Administrative Responsibility.
