Five workers fell into the central sewage system in Bukhara.

A tragic incident occurred in the city of Bukhara: on September 4 at 12:02, the Department of Emergency Situations of Bukhara region transmitted information to the short number "102" of the local Department of Internal Affairs. According to the report, five workers connecting the sewerage system of newly constructed apartment buildings to the central sewer pipe passing through the Bog'idasht village of Bukhara district fell into the pipe due to negligence.

During the inspection, it became known that a total of 5 employees of "Fayz binokor Oltiariq" LLC carried out sewerage repair work in this area. They attempted to open a hole from the inside to connect the newly dug sewerage to the central pipe with a volume of 1000 mm and a depth of 8 meters through a Kamaz-type crane with the state registration number 80 411 JBA, belonging to "O'rta Osiyo Qurilish" LLC. Previously, without the permission of the engineering company for water supply and sewerage of the Bukhara region, the lid was removed and labor protection rules were violated. This led to workers being drained into the sewerage due to the strong current.

During the investigation at the scene of the incident, the bodies of 3 citizens were found in the pipes of the wastewater discharge point passing through the territory of the Zarmanoq neighborhood of the Bukhara district. Measures to search for and rescue the remaining two workers are ongoing.

The Investigative Department of the Bukhara Regional Department of Internal Affairs initiated a criminal case under Article 257, Part 2, Clause "a" of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Violation of labor protection rules). A preliminary investigation is underway, the causes of the incident and the responsible persons are being identified.
