In Andijan region, a serious incident related to a gross violation of traffic rules was recorded. The road traffic accident that occurred on September 4 caused wide discussions among the public. This was reported in the official information of the regional Department of Traffic Safety.
According to the data, the incident took place at the 48th kilometer of the D-137 “Teshiktosh-Oyim Kurgantepa-Yorkishloq” highway, passing through Khonko‘cha mahalla of Kurgantepa district. The driver A.Q., born in 1996, driving a Nexia-2 car in the direction of Kurgantepa, ran the red traffic light at a regulated intersection.
As a result, a collision occurred with a moped coming from the left side of the intersection. After the impact, the driver lost control of the steering wheel and also hit a cyclist moving along the roadside.
According to official information, the moped driver Sh.A. and the cyclist B.N. received various minor injuries. They promptly applied to the emergency medical assistance unit of Kurgantepa district.
At present, investigative measures regarding this incident are being carried out by the officers of the Kurgantepa district police and the traffic safety department. It is emphasized that the offender will be subjected to punishment in accordance with the law.
This incident once again showed the necessity of strictly following traffic rules. A violation committed to save just a few minutes can pose a danger not only to the driver but also to the lives of innocent people moving on the road.
