An attempt to illegally sell a state land plot was uncovered in the Surkhandarya region. This situation is significant because it attracts the attention of the local population and law enforcement agencies.
According to the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office, an employee of the Cadastral Chamber and a local citizen were detained in the Jarkurgan district while attempting to illegally sell 40 sotkas of land from the state reserve. According to the investigation documents, these individuals demanded 200 million soums for the land plot and an additional 4 million soums for the preparation of documents. During the transfer of funds, law enforcement officers stopped the criminal activity and detained the individuals.
A criminal case has been initiated under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code, and an active investigation is currently underway. According to experts, cooperation between local authorities and government bodies is necessary to prevent such situations.
