Criminal case opened against teenagers who attacked Uzbeks in Russia

The incident that occurred in the Primorsky Krai of the Russian Federation caused a major public outcry. According to the Investigative Committee, a criminal case has been initiated against a group of teenagers who attacked migrants, reportedly from Uzbekistan, on Khabarovskaya Street in the city of Vladivostok.

It is reported that on the night of September 10, a 15-year-old teenager and his companions, being intoxicated, committed various hooligan actions. They damaged a parked car without reason and sprayed aerosol into the cabin. Then the accused attacked a truck driver.

In addition, the accused entered a 24-hour store in the city and attacked a taxi driver and his passenger in front of buyers and sellers. It is also noted that on the street they shouted loudly, used stones and improvised objects as weapons, and attacked people.

According to the Investigative Committee, the identities of the accused have been fully established. One of them has been detained, while two others are wanted. It turned out that the suspects had previously come to the attention of law enforcement authorities. One of them is even involved in a court trial in another criminal case of hooliganism.

“The suspects have negative characteristics, and their actions were known earlier. Currently, investigators are clarifying all the circumstances of the incident, and employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Primorsky Krai are providing operational assistance,” the Investigative Committee said in a statement.

It should be recalled that after the incident, the Consul General of Uzbekistan in Vladivostok established contact with the injured citizens and provided them with legal assistance. Also, Uzbek citizens submitted an official statement to the city Department of Internal Affairs. Notes were sent to the Russian Foreign Ministry’s office in Vladivostok and the Prosecutor’s Office of Primorsky Krai demanding that all necessary measures be taken.

This case is under special control of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Vladivostok and Russian law enforcement agencies. Experts emphasize that taking strict measures in such cases is of great importance to prevent similar incidents in the future.
