A 4-year-old girl fell out of a moving car

An incident in Tashkent has sparked wide discussion on social media. Videos circulating online show a moving car’s rear door suddenly opening, causing a small girl to fall onto the road. The footage has prompted many to think about vigilance and child safety while driving.

The incident occurred on October 9 around 8:30 a.m. in the Sergeli district, near the No. 10 polyclinic. The vehicle, a VAZ-2115, was driven by B.I., a 60-year-old man born in 1964. When the traffic light turned green and the car started moving, the 3-year-old passenger born in 2021 accidentally opened the rear left door and fell out onto the street.

Grandfather — “I take my granddaughter to kindergarten every day”

Reports indicate that the child was with her grandfather at the time of the incident. The elderly man was driving her to kindergarten. He said he takes her every morning between 8:00 and 8:30.

“I told her to close the window, but she accidentally opened the door. People shouted, ‘Your child fell out!’ I looked back — my granddaughter wasn’t there. I quickly turned around and drove back. A man was holding her in his arms. Fortunately, she wasn’t hurt. She’s doing fine,” said the girl’s grandfather.

The child is fine, investigation ongoing

Since the girl was in the back seat and the car wasn’t moving fast, the consequences were minor. Witnesses said that help was provided immediately after the fall, and there was no need for medical intervention.

The Tashkent Traffic Safety Department confirmed the incident, stating that an official investigation is underway. Specialists reminded that children must always be seated in child safety seats in the back and that rear doors should be locked to prevent similar accidents.
