Uzbek citizen Zuhriddin Yuldashev, who fought on the Russian side in Ukraine, was taken prisoner by Ukrainian soldiers, UPL reported. A video about him has spread on social media.
According to reports, Yuldashev, a 31-year-old from Bukhara region, surrendered in front of a Ukrainian military drone. He stated that he was forced to be sent to the war. According to the media, he was accused of distributing narcotic substances and chose to participate in the "special military operation" to avoid punishment.
In captivity, Yuldashev spoke about the disorder in the Russian army and that soldiers were buying equipment at their own expense. He also asked the Uzbekistan government to return him to his homeland. It should be recalled that Uzbekistan citizens are prohibited from participating in military conflicts abroad and a criminal case may be initiated in such cases.
