Andijan woman dissatisfied with unpaid alimony


The press service of the Andijan Region Bureau of Compulsory Enforcement issued an official statement regarding the information circulating on social networks. According to reports, a woman residing in Andijan region announced on social networks that, despite her ex-husband being imprisoned for failing to pay alimony, she still has not received the payments.

It was stated that the ex-husband’s total debt had exceeded 18 million soums. According to the organization, based on a 2022 decision of the Andijan Interdistrict Civil Court, the man was obliged to pay alimony to support his children.

However, despite the measures taken, due to his continued failure to pay the debt, the staff of the Oltinkul District Bureau of Compulsory Enforcement initiated criminal proceedings against him. On September 19 of this year, the district criminal court found the man guilty under the article of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan for "Evading support of minors or persons unable to work" and sentenced him to 6 months of imprisonment.

It was also reported that, on October 17, the woman was transferred 18.2 million soums from the special fund of the Bureau of Compulsory Enforcement.
