Struggle for dowry: the bride defended her rights through court

In the Yaz'yavan district of the Fergana region, an incident occurred that caused a lot of public discussion - employees of the Bureau of Compulsory Enforcement (BCE) returned 59 types of dowry items from another bride.

The residents of the district still talk about this incident: "The executors came and took the dowry from so-and-so's bride," - such rumors are heard in every household.

The incident began like this: the girl and the young man were connected by love, but they began living together without marriage. After several months, the relationship deteriorated, leading to arguments, quarrels, and even fights. After the father-in-law intervened, the matter became even more complicated.

The girl's relatives took her home, and then the matter of "sep" was raised. There was no agreement between the in-laws:

- "We spent money on the wedding, sold this dowry, and returned the money," - said the young man's side.

"This is my right, let the court decide," said the bride's side.

Having studied all the evidence, the court ruled on the return of the bride's dowry. This decision was sent to the Yazyavan District Department of the Bureau of Compulsory Enforcement.

Despite repeated warnings, the young man's side refused to return the dowry. After this, state executors began their work, and the rule of law was ensured - the bride regained her rights.

The incident once again proved one thing: dowry is not a measure of love, everyone has equal rights before the law.
