Official Resolution Reached on Disputes Over Nurafshon Parking Project

Official clarification provided on the Nurafshon parking lot project controversy

The Tashkent Region Administration has clarified the issue surrounding the parking lot in the city of Nurafshon, which has recently become a hot topic on social media. Some posts alleged that 4.5 billion soums were allocated solely for the parking lot, raising various questions among the public.

According to information provided by the administration, these funds were not designated only for the parking lot but were part of a larger complex. A wide-scale project is being implemented on a nearly 1-hectare area belonging to the Regional Prosecutor’s Office to modernize the infrastructure. As part of this project, the following are planned:

  • A parking lot,
  • Service points,
  • Charging stations for electric vehicles,
  • Green zones,
  • Pedestrian walkways,
  • Drainage and irrigation systems

Additionally, solar panels are scheduled to be installed.

The administration noted that the phrase “for the construction of the parking lot” in the official decree led to some misunderstandings. In reality, the project involves an entire infrastructure complex, which includes the parking lot.

The initial cost of the project was estimated at 5.9 billion soums. However, after a review and optimization of certain expenses by experts, it was announced that the total cost was reduced to 4.5 billion soums.

The administration called on the public to avoid misinterpretations and rely on official information.
