A recent operation conducted in the Yashnobod district of Tashkent has revealed a serious situation. In an effort to prevent illegal activities among young students, law enforcement authorities discovered a significant amount of synthetic drugs in possession of two students during an inspection.
During the initial search conducted in the presence of witnesses, 120 grams of a highly potent synthetic drug known as "Alpha PVP" were found on them. However, the operation did not end there — it continued with a search of the dormitory room of one of the students, born in 2007, where the student temporarily resided. In the room, authorities found over 400 grams of the same substance.
According to the investigation, these students collected the synthetic drugs from specific "geolocation" points designated by an acquaintance. They then divided and packaged the drugs into doses in the dormitory before distributing them to predetermined locations. The operation resulted in the confiscation of a total of 520 grams of illegal substances, equivalent to 2,600 single-use doses, being removed from circulation.
The spread of such dangerous substances among youth is considered a major social threat. Consequently, the accused were charged under Article 273, Part 5 of the Criminal Code, which carries a penalty of 10 to 20 years of imprisonment.
Law enforcement efforts are ongoing, with authorities continuing to investigate the sources of these synthetic substances, the distribution network, and other accomplices involved. Officials emphasize that public awareness and vigilance are crucial in preventing such occurrences.
This incident underscores once again that the fight against drug abuse is not solely the responsibility of law enforcement agencies but a shared responsibility of society as a whole.
