Weather conditions have drastically changed along certain sections of the A-373 “Tashkent–Ohangaron–Angren–Kokand–Shakhrihon–Andijan” highway passing through Kamchik Pass. Heavy rain has been observed in some parts and snowfall in others. Currently, these conditions are causing hazards such as fog, icy surfaces, and reduced visibility, prompting authorities to recommend heightened caution for drivers.
According to reports, rain is being observed between kilometers 80–102 and 166–201 of the highway, while snowfall is occurring between kilometers 102–166. The air temperature is around -1 degree Celsius, and due to fog, visibility has been reduced to an average of 500 meters. Additionally, winds are blowing at speeds of 2–10 m/s, and humidity has reached 79 percent.
Despite the prevailing weather conditions, “Kamchikavtoyo‘l IYFK” State Enterprise is ensuring stable two-way traffic through the pass. Special machinery is working around the clock to spread a mixture of sand and salt on the road surface, while snow is being promptly cleared. At present, vehicles are continuing to move safely.
In this regard, the responsible organization is urging drivers to prioritize safety by adhering to the speed limits, maintaining safe distances between vehicles, and strictly following all traffic regulations.
Such weather conditions at Kamchik Pass, particularly during the winter season, demand increased attention and responsibility from drivers. Meanwhile, authorities are continuing all necessary measures to ensure traffic safety.
