How many years should Uzbeks save to buy a house?

The geostatistical portal published interesting results comparing the housing purchasing opportunities of the population of the former Soviet states. According to him, the process of accumulating enough funds for Uzbeks to buy one apartment takes longer compared to the population of neighboring countries.
According to calculations, the average monthly salary in Uzbekistan is around $482. With this salary, it would take 16 years and 9 months to save 96.8 thousand dollars for an apartment. This indicator is twice as effective as in Kazakhstan: our neighbors can buy a house on average in 7 years and 8 months.
Moreover, saving for housing for the population of Kyrgyzstan takes 13 years and 6 months, and for citizens of Tajikistan - approximately 15 years and 9 months. Thus, the economic conditions in the region, the sharp difference in the level of wages and prices per square meter determine the large gap between these periods.

The authors of the study also paid attention to some limited data - for example, they did not provide accurate information about the area of the apartment included in the calculations or the price difference by cities. At the same time, they note that the dynamics of the housing market and the growth rate of wages have a serious impact on these figures.
In conclusion, although the road to buying a house is longer for Uzbeks, market changes and income growth may shorten this distance in the future. There is hope that with the development of the local economy, the possibility of obtaining housing will become closer.
