Three people who brutally killed and ate a dog were sentenced to 10 days in prison

It was reported that on January 12, the Yangiyul District Criminal Court considered the case. According to the court’s decision, the individuals found guilty were sentenced to 10 days of administrative arrest under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility.
According to the organization, the offense was committed with the participation of several individuals. One of them held the dog, the second slaughtered it, and the third skinned the animal. It was also established that another person cut up the dog meat and consumed it together with the others; however, this individual was not held liable.
The incident became known to the public through video recordings that spread on social media. The videos reportedly show a resident of the city of Yangiyul brutally killing his own dog and consuming its meat. Following this, the animal protection society “Mehr va Oqibat” submitted an official appeal to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, requesting a lawful investigation of the case.
Later, during a rapid investigation conducted by the public association “Ekolog,” it was determined that the main accused was a 27-year-old resident of Yangiyul. According to the organization, he had previously and systematically killed dogs, including those belonging to him, and consumed their meat. It was also noted that in some cases puppies were slaughtered as well.
When animal protection volunteers and neighborhood representatives arrived at the scene, the accused’s mother and sister were present in the house. They initially denied the incident and did not believe it even after being shown the video recordings.
Initially, an administrative case was opened against the suspect, but later he stated that he had not killed the dogs alone and that two other individuals were involved. As a result, the court proceedings were temporarily suspended and an additional investigation was ordered.
Following additional investigative actions, all participants were identified, and the case was reconsidered in court. Ultimately, the court found three individuals guilty of cruel treatment of animals and sentenced them to administrative arrest.
This incident caused a significant public outcry and once again raised the issue of strengthening liability for violence against animals.
