Attempt to smuggle marijuana foiled in Sariosiyo

Customs officers of Uzbekistan continue their strict fight against the illegal import of narcotic drugs into the country. In particular, another violation was stopped in the Surkhandarya region.
A freight train arriving from a neighboring country was inspected in accordance with the established procedure at the "Sariosiyo" railway border customs post of the regional customs administration. A specially trained service dog closely assisted the customs officers during the inspection.
When the bottom part of one of the train wagons was inspected with the help of the service dog, a suspicious item secretly hidden from customs control was discovered. It was confirmed that the substance placed in a colorless polyethylene container was marijuana.
When the found narcotic substance was weighed on a special scale, its weight together with the container was 113.9 grams. The offenders tried to smuggle the prohibited substance into the country using this method.
Currently, pre-investigation checks are being carried out by customs authorities regarding this situation. Appropriate work is underway to identify the guilty persons and take legal action.
