Another Uzbek student has died in the USA

In the state of New York, USA, at one of the prestigious higher education institutions — Stony Brook University — the Uzbek student Muhammad Yusuf Fakhriiddinov, who had been studying there, has died. He was studying as a scholarship holder of the “El-yurt umidi” foundation and was considered one of the promising young specialists in the country.
According to reports, he was in the 4th year of his bachelor’s degree in computer technologies and informatics. His relatives and acquaintances describe him as disciplined, eager to learn, and one of the young people with a bright future. His unexpected death caused deep grief not only in his family but also among his university community and colleagues.
Preliminary reports say that the student went to sleep and did not wake up. It is assumed that the cause of death may be related to heart function, but no exact conclusion has been made yet. The competent law enforcement authorities of the USA are conducting an investigation into the case.
The “El-yurt umidi” foundation has also taken the situation under control. In cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and consular institutions, all legal and organizational procedures are being carried out. The issue of returning the body to the homeland is also being discussed, and it is stated that the process is under control.
At the same time, another painful incident involving Uzbek students studying in the USA is being recalled. On December 13, 2025, at Brown University in the state of Rhode Island, Muhammadaziz Umurzoqov was killed in a shooting.
The incident took place in the city of Providence, near the building of the university’s engineering and physics faculties. An unknown person dressed in black carried out an attack, in which two people were killed and eight others were injured.
Such news once again highlights the need to strengthen attention to the safety, health, and overall well-being of students studying abroad. Investigations into all cases are currently ongoing.
