Fraud cases exposed in overseas job placements

Uzbekistan: Further violations related to illegal labor migration have been uncovered. This was announced following operational measures conducted by the State Security Service and the Department under the Prosecutor General's Office.
It has become known that several cases of defrauding citizens by promising to send them abroad for work have been exposed in the Navoiy and Kashkadarya regions.
Specifically, in Navoiy city, the head of a tourism firm was apprehended with material evidence while receiving $3,000 USD under the pretext of preparing all documents, having convinced a citizen born in 2006 and residing in Khatirchi district to work in Bulgaria.
A similar incident was recorded in Kitob district of Kashkadarya region. A person born in 1997, residing in Tashkent region, promised to send two citizens to work in Israel, stating they would prepare work visas through 'contacts'. They demanded $20,000 USD for this service.
During the operational measure, this individual was detained in Kashkadarya upon receiving a portion of the agreed sum – $5,000 USD.
Criminal cases have been initiated in both instances, and investigative actions are underway. Officials urge citizens to approach only official and reliable sources for matters concerning sending them abroad for work.
In short, serious risks can often be hidden behind promises of quick and easy income. Therefore, a critical approach to any offer remains the most correct decision today.
