Six companies in Tashkent fined for selling counterfeit Krot cleaning product

The Intellectual Property Center under the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan has initiated several administrative cases regarding the sale of counterfeit household chemicals in Tashkent. These measures were taken following an application from Sano Technology, the owner of the "KROT" cleaning products brand. Spot.uz reports this.
According to the rights holder, fake products were offered at several retail outlets in the capital under names similar to its registered trademark. Inspections conducted by ministry officials confirmed the sale of counterfeit goods at six locations. Administrative protocols were drawn up against all violators under Article 177 of the Code of Administrative Liability for the illegal use of another's trademark.
Following court proceedings, each of the six firms was fined 15 times the base calculating amount (BCA), totaling 6.18 million soums each. The total amount of fines exceeded 37 million soums. Additionally, the entrepreneurs were ordered to eliminate the identified legal violations.
The Ministry of Justice urged entrepreneurs who encounter violations of their brand rights to report them via the 1008 helpline or email. Previously, a court ruled to recover 111 million soums from those selling counterfeit versions of the "Hugo Boss" and "Tommy Hilfiger" brands.
