Spanish club Real Madrid has decided to sell one of its brightest attacking talents — Brazilian footballer Rodrygo Goes. According to Relevo, the Madrid club expects at least €100 million for the transfer.
According to sources, the Royal Club's management plans to list Rodrygo for transfer after the current season ends. The reason is the arrival of superstars Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham over the past two years. As a result, the 24-year-old Brazilian has gradually lost his place in the starting lineup and fallen into the background.
Currently, Real Madrid’s attacking trio consists of Mbappe, Bellingham, and Vinicius Junior. Their excellent form and mutual understanding are keeping Rodrygo out of the starting eleven. Many fans and experts already see this trio as untouchable.
It’s worth recalling that Rodrygo joined Real in 2019 from Brazilian club Santos. Over the years, he scored numerous crucial goals in the Champions League, La Liga, and the Copa del Rey, becoming one of the club’s fan favorites.
However, this season the situation has changed. Neither the current coach Carlo Ancelotti nor the expected successor Xabi Alonso can guarantee Rodrygo a place in the starting lineup. Because of this, the Brazilian is seriously considering his future.
Reportedly, two top English clubs — Manchester City and Arsenal — are strongly interested in Rodrygo. Both are ready to compete for his signature and meet Real Madrid’s demands.
Pep Guardiola, coach of City, believes Rodrygo's versatility makes him a perfect fit for his squad and has listed him as one of the key transfer targets for next season.
Rodrygo himself is not rushing to decide and is waiting to see whether Xabi Alonso becomes the next head coach. If Alonso also fails to guarantee a starting role, Rodrygo will consider offers and be ready to leave.
One way or another, Rodrygo’s future will become one of the most talked-about and important topics in the summer transfer window. This transfer could spark intense competition among Europe’s top clubs. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
