Gullit defended Barcelona: the referee was unfair in the match against Inter
After a dramatic and controversial Champions League semi-final, one of the legends of world football, Ruud Gullit, has said that Barcelona were unfairly treated. He believes that Inter's two decisive goals were scored in questionable circumstances and that referee Szymon Marciniak made the wrong decision in these episodes.

Gullit was particularly critical of the penalty shootout between Kubarsi and Lautaro Martinez:

"There should have been no penalty in this episode. It was a simple game move, there was no foul. The referee probably made the wrong decision under pressure."

He also touched on Dumfries's tackle on Inter's third goal:

"That goal shouldn't have been counted at all. Dumfries blocked Barcelona defender Gerard Martin and restricted his ability to get to the ball. It was a clear foul. You can see how he positioned himself, it was premeditated."

Gullit also praised Barcelona's performance, not only for their potential, but also for their passion for the fans:

Barcelona played with heart in both matches. They deserved to win. A real team, real football, real character - that's why they won the hearts of the fans. But unfortunately, the result didn't match it."

It should be noted that the second leg between Inter and Barcelona ended with a score of 4:3, and the Milanese advanced to the final with a total score of 7:6. After the match, the refereeing of Szymon Marciniak was criticized not only by Barca coach Hans-Dieter Flick, but also by the team members.

These words of Ruud Gullit will certainly further heat up the discussions around fairness and the quality of refereeing in football. Therefore, although this debate has stopped for a while on the football field, it will continue for a long time in public discussion.
