105-year-old champion: Thai grandfather broke records and entered history!
Age is never a barrier to achieving one’s goal in life. This was clearly demonstrated by 105-year-old Thai athlete Sawang Chanpram, who recently won four gold medals at the World Masters Games held in Taiwan.

At 105 years old, most people are either bedridden or living a peaceful life at home, spending time with their children and grandchildren. But Sawang Chanpram, on the contrary, continues to achieve high sports results and shows an example of an active life.

As the oldest participant of the World Masters Games held in Taiwan, Sawang Chanpram was the only competitor in the special category "over 100 years old." This meant that just finishing the event would have been enough to win. However, the Thai champion did not settle for just participating — he actively competed in various disciplines and amazed the global sports community.

Chanpram competed in athletics disciplines such as javelin throw, discus throw, 100-meter run, and stone throw, demonstrating his will and determination to win in each. With these achievements, his total number of medals reached 60.

Interestingly, his 73-year-old daughter Siripan also took part in the games and won three medals. The joint victory of father and daughter became an example for many and sparked great interest not only in Thailand but around the world.

Chanpram’s life story has also amazed many. He previously worked as a school principal and dedicated his life to education. After retiring, at the age of 80, he decided to be no different from the youth and started doing sports. He explains his reason as follows:

“At 80, I saw many of my peers losing their activity due to illness, and I realized I shouldn't end up like them. To stay active and maintain my health, I started exercising,” says the champion.

He started participating in competitions after the age of 90 and since then has aimed to improve his results in every contest. Currently, the 105-year-old athlete runs regularly 3–4 times a week and never skips daily walks around his house.

The World Masters Games is a prestigious international sporting event held every four years. It primarily includes athletes over the age of 30. The main goal of the competition is to promote an active lifestyle among older and middle-aged individuals and to provide opportunities for regular sports participation.

Sawang Chanpram’s success at 105, entering world sports history, has become an example for many people around the globe. His victories inspire many to pursue new dreams and hopes.

Thus, Chanpram has proven to everyone that it is never too late in life. His example is a great source of motivation for not only the elderly but for people of all ages.

Loving life, staying in shape, and taking care of health — this is the philosophy of Sawang Chanpram. This unique athlete has shown that with strong spirit, boundless desire, and willpower, anything is possible.

The 105-year-old Thai athlete has written his name in the pages of history in golden letters. He will remain a true source of motivation and inspiration not only for his homeland but for all humanity.
