Uzbekistan – Qatar 3:0 (Masterpiece goals from Turgunbaev and Shomurodov!)

The Uzbekistan national football team won a landslide victory over Qatar in the final round of the 2026 World Cup qualifying tournament. The match, held on June 10 at the Bunyodkor Stadium in Tashkent, ended with a 3-0 victory for the hosts.

Aziz Turgunbayev opened the scoring in the first half. In the 28th minute, he broke through two opponents on the right wing, broke into the penalty area and scored a super goal by scoring a goal under the crossbar.

The hosts had complete control throughout the match, and in both the first and second half, team leader Eldor Shomurodov had enough opportunities to increase the lead. However, he only achieved his goal in the 86th minute. In the second half, the striker, who had come on as a substitute in Jamshid Iskanderov's pass from the other side of the field, controlled the ball with one move and scored the goal for the visitors in the second move.

In the 90+2 minute, Igor Sergeyev, who had replaced Shomurodov, headed the ball into the net from a corner, which was his first touch on the ball. It is noteworthy that Iskanderov also assisted him.
