Gattuso: "In modern football, I wouldn't put Gattuso on the field"

Italy national team head coach and former AC Milan boss Gennaro Gattuso shared an interesting opinion about his playing career. According to him, in today’s football reality, he would not have the courage to put himself on the pitch.

"Many fans remember me as a player who ran a lot and always worked hard in every match. It’s true, I think the teams I played for always showed good and interesting football.

But I want to admit something that no one has ever told me: if I were playing in modern football, I would not put myself on the field. Because at that time, I would often cause disorder on the pitch. But modern football requires more order and discipline. Seeing today’s players’ professionalism and their behavior on the pitch, I came to this conclusion.

Today’s footballers are more professional than before, and working with them is not easy, not only on the field, but also in training and as a group," said Gattuso.
