
Member of the Uzbekistan national team and CSKA Moscow's attacking midfielder Abbosbek Fayzullaev continues to shine more brightly on the big stage with each season. This season, our 21-year-old legionnaire achieved another major success in Russia – he became the winner of the Russian Super Cup.
Previously, Fayzullaev had won a bronze medal in the Russian Premier League and the national cup with his team. Ahead of the new season, he added another prestigious trophy – the Super Cup.
This important match took place between the Russian champion “Krasnodar” and the national cup holder CSKA. The match was held on neutral ground in Kazan and was full of fierce and uncompromising competition. CSKA defender Igor Diveev’s goal in the 49th minute secured victory for the Moscow side.
Abbosbek Fayzullaev came on as a substitute in the 79th minute and contributed to his team maintaining the win. Thus, he lifted a trophy with CSKA for the second time.
Most notably, Abbosbek Fayzullaev became the first and so far the only Uzbek footballer to win both the Russian Cup and the Super Cup within a single year. This is not only his personal achievement, but also further evidence of the growing reputation of Uzbek football internationally.
Additionally, there is interesting news about the footballer’s future. According to Turkish journalist Usman Altunterim, Fayzullaev has agreed to join one of Turkey’s top clubs – Istanbul Başakşehir.
According to the journalist, the player wants to move to Istanbul, and there is no major disagreement between the clubs regarding the transfer fee. If the deal is completed, Abbosbek will continue his career in the Turkish Super League.
Interestingly, another Uzbek footballer – Eldor Shomurodov – recently joined Başakşehir on loan. Therefore, in his new team, Fayzullaev will reunite with his compatriot, and this duo could open a new chapter in Turkish football.
Currently, Istanbul Başakşehir is actively conducting a summer transfer campaign and aims to compete for top spots in the Turkish league and secure a place in European competitions. If Fayzullaev’s transfer goes through, he could become a key force for the club.
