Xabi Alonso, who has begun his new role at "Real Madrid," has identified the team’s key “weak points” and outlined his transfer policy. The Spanish coach, after taking charge, is focused on improving the squad, particularly by bringing in new players for the weaker positions.
"Real Madrid" prefers to prepare for transfers in advance. Following this habit, Xabi Alonso has already targeted two key defenders for the summer transfer window of 2026.
Alonso plans to reorganize the team’s defensive line. This year, the club brought in "Liverpool"’s famous defender Trent Alexander-Arnold and Din Heusen from "Ajax." A year from now, Alonso intends to acquire two more defenders. These include Europe’s top central defender, William Saliba from "Arsenal," and Ibrahim Konate, who is in the final year of his contract with "Liverpool."
These two young French defenders, according to Alonso, fully meet the requirements of "Real Madrid" with their experience, reliable performances, and results in high-level matches.
